Kom wandelen en fietsen langs moerassen en weilanden, of maak eens een boottocht op onze fluisterboot in natuurgebied De Blankaart. Het gebied ligt in de IJzervallei, tussen Oost-Vleteren en Diksmuide, in de provincie West-Vlaanderen. Het bezoekerscentrum ligt in het mooie Blankaartkasteel. Doorheen het Blankaartmoeras en langs de Blankaartvijver vind je kindvriendelijke fietstochten en wandelingen. Plankenpaden brengen je naar vogelkijkhutten en een uitkijktoren om de vogels in alle rust te bekijken. Staat het water in het gebied hoog genoeg, dan voert een fluisterboot je geruisloos door het moeras. Zo verken je het gebied zonder de dieren en talrijke vogels, waaronder lepelaars, te storen.

Come and walk and cycle along marshes and meadows, or take a boat trip on our whisper boat in nature reserve De Blankaart. The area is located in the Iron Valley, between East Vleteren and Diksmuide, in the province of West Flanders. The visitor centre is located in the beautiful Blankaart castle. Through the Blankaartmoeras and along the Blankaartvijver you will find child-friendly bike rides and walks. Plank paths take you to birdwatching huts and a watchtower to watch the birds in peace. If the water in the area is high enough, a whisper boat will silently take you through the swamp. This way you can explore the area without disturbing the animals and numerous birds, including spoonbills.
