DE: Der Hutmacher Martin Eiserfey gründete 1914 am Apellhofplatz eine kleine Firma, die sich bald darauf auf Damenhüte spezialisierte. Nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg wagte die Firma im Jahr 1948 am Zollstockgürtel 5 einen Neuanfang, aus dieser Zeit stammt auch das an der Hauswand des Nachbarhauses Zollstockgürtel 3 angebrachte Neonschild.
In etwas schnörkeliger Schrift steht dort "Midinette" darunter in Blockbuchstaben das Wort "Hüte" und darunter in wieder schnörkeligerer Schrift der Name des Geschäftes "M. Eiserfey". Mitte der 1980er Jahre konnte die Firma dem Konkurrenzdruck aus China nicht mehr standhalten und schloss ihre Pforten.

EN: The hat maker Martin Eiserfey founded a small company on Apellhofplatz in 1914, which soon specialized in women's hats. After the Second World War, the company ventured a fresh start in 1948 at Zollstockgürtel 5, the neon sign attached to the wall of the neighboring house, Zollstockgürtel 3, also dates back to this time.
There is the word "Midinette" in a somewhat squiggly font underneath in block letters the word "Hüte" and underneath, in squiggly font again, the name of the shop "M. Eiserfey". In the mid-1980s, the company could no longer withstand the pressure of competition from China and closed its doors.
