[FR] Cette maison, qu’il aménage et transforme, devient pendant seize années son refuge, lieu de composition et de méditation. Il y accueille ses amis et crée des œuvres qui, aujourd’hui encore, sont jouées dans le monde entier, telles que Le Boléro, L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, Tzigane, Le Concerto pour la main gauche…*

Dans le salon, des tasses à café trouées, sur le piano des boîtes romantiques, dans la bibliothèque, un chinois tirant la langue… Dans chaque pièce, Maurice Ravel a collectionné l’insolite, et la maison toute entière s’est parée d’une panoplie d’objets étranges et merveilleux.

[EN] He renovated and made massive alterations to this house which became a haven where he welcame his friends, composed and meditated for sixteen years. This was where he wrote “le Boléro“, “L’enfant et les sortilèges” (‘The Child and the Spells’), Tzigane, Le Concerto pour la main gauche (‘The Piano Concerto for the Left Hand’) etc…

In the living room, there are coffe cups with holes, romantic boxes on the piano, a Chinese man sticking his tongue out in the bookcase… In each room, the unusual prevails, and the whole house is full of the strange and wonderful objects collected by Maurice Ravel.
