Ankeret er placeret foran Søfartsskolen hvor der er offentlig adgang.
Svendborg blev grundlagt i 1200-tallet og fejrede i 2003 sin 750-års fødselsdag. Svendborg er en havne- og søfartsby på det sydlige Fyn med 27.000 indbyggere. (2020)
