A wonderful area overlooking the Hakianga Harbour and Tasman Sea. You also get a great view of the North Head sand dune (Te Pouahi Reserve). The name of this overlook location is Arai te Uru, and located on South Head.
It is a short 10 minute walk from the parking area. You can get to the parking area by driving on highway 12 towards the town of Omapere. It is located a very short distance from the town.
We found a geocache nearby also.
