The Primitive Methodist Hall, also known as the Ebenezer Hall, on Main Road in Kirk Michael dates from 1915.

It was designed by a Ramsey architect Mr George Kay and the contractor who built the hall was Mr R. G Corkhill (Ramsey). The cost of the building was £1,000.

'The site for the new Primitive Hall is prepared and building operations stated. It is understood the building will cost £1,000. Mr George Kay is the architect and Mr R. G. Corkhill (Ramsey) the contractor.'

The buildings foundation stone was laid by John Corjeag on July 15th 1915. Mr Corjeag was the Superintendent of the Sunday School.

The foundation stone is inscribed as follows:

'THIS STONE WAS PLACED BY
JOHN CORJEAG
SUPERINTENDENT
OF THE SUNDAY SCHOOL
JULY 15TH 1915'

The building is also dated on a 'stone' high in the gable above the main entrance to the hall which shows the following text:

'A.D.
1915
PRIMITIVE METHODIST HALL'

It would appear from contemporary sources that at least some of the cost of building the hall was raised through fund raising events including the following concert reported in the Isle of Man Examiner newspaper on Saturday, May 29, 1915.
'MICHAEL

In aid of funds for the erection of a new Primitive Methodist Hall and Sunday School, an excellent concert was provided by Ramsey and Douglas singers in the chapel on Whit Monday. Mr E. J. Curphey, H.K., presided. Mrs J.E. Cannan and Miss A. Cannell made efficient accompanists. All the items were thoroughly enjoyable, and encores were demanded in almost all cases. The following was the programme: - Hymn; prayer; solo, Mr Philip Kelly; solo, Mr George Peters; Chairman’s address; solo, Miss Effie Fayle; solo, Miss Machin; solo, Miss Lavery; duet, Messrs G. Peters and P. Kelly; solo, Miss Curphey; solo, Mrs Davis; solo, Mr Peters; solo, Miss Christian; solo, Miss Effie Fayle; duet, Messrs Kelly and Peters; solo, Miss Curphey; solo Mrs Davies; solo, Mr P. Kelly; quartette, Misses Fayle and Curphey, Messrs Kelly and Peters. A vote of thanks to the singers and accompanists was ably proposed by the Rev G. Davis, seconded by Mr Jonathan Kelly, and carried with applause.'
