De Linschotenroute is een skeelerroute van 18,5 km. De officiële startpunten (met infopaneel) zijn de skeelerbaan in Woerden, de skeelerbaan in Oudewater en station Woerden. De route kan ook gestart worden op de parkeerplaats aan de N204 (ca. 1 km naar route).
De skateroute gaat grotendeels over fietspaden, deels over smalle landweggetjes. Op een enkel stuk na bestaat de verharding uit asfalt. Het mooiste deel van de route is zonder twijfel het stuk door Landgoed Linschoten en langs de Lange Linschoten naar Oudewater. Vlak na de start in Woerden duikt de route onder de A12 door. Vrijwel direct verstomt het autogeraas en zwelt het vogelgekwetter aan. Het statige bos wordt doorgesneden door weilanden. Een uitgelezen plek voor biologische veeboerderij Adriana-hoeve waar varkens in lichte stallen vol stro rondscharrelen en koeien tevreden in enorme weiden grazen.
Verderop stuit het landweggetje op de Lange Linschoten, een smalle rivier met aan weerskanten een weggetje. Tot Oudewater volgt de route de kronkels van de rivier, aan de overkant is een klimaatbosje te zien, daar geplant als symbool voor het CO2-probleem. Het asfalt is goed, maar toch zal de vaart er niet altijd in zitten, want hier is ook autoverkeer. Oudewater verdient een bezoek, aan de beroemde heksenwaag en aan een van de gezellige terrassen (die iets van de route af liggen). Dan gaat het richting Papekop, om vervolgens met lekker lange slagen door de polder te zoeven.
Verrassend is het Zwarte Dijkje dat als scheidslijn tussen twee veenwinningsgebieden diende: rechts lopen de sloten noord-oost, links oost-west. Het Dijkje is getooid met bomen met ijle stammen. Dan gaat het de bocht om, onder de A12 door en naar Woerden. Door het groenste deel van de stad, waar het prima skaten is.

The Linschotenroute is a skating route of 18.5 km. The official starting points (with information panel) are the inline skating track in Woerden, the inline skating track in Oudewater and Woerden station. The route can also be started at the parking lot on the N204 (approx. 1 km to route).
The skater route is mostly on cycle paths, partly on narrow country roads. With the exception of a few parts, the pavement consists of asphalt. The most beautiful part of the route is without a doubt the part through Landgoed Linschoten and along the Lange Linschoten to Oudewater. Just after the start in Woerden, the route dives under the A12. Almost immediately the car mesh ceases and the bird twittering swells. The stately forest is cut by meadows. An ideal place for the Adriana-Hoeve organic cattle farm, where pigs forage in light stables full of straw and cows happily graze in huge meadows.
Further on, the country road meets the Lange Linschoten, a narrow river with a road on both sides. Until Oudewater the route follows the twists and turns of the river, on the other side you can see a climate grove, planted there as a symbol for the CO2 problem. The asphalt is good, but the momentum will not always be there, because there is also car traffic here. Oudewater deserves a visit, to the famous witches' weighing house and one of the cozy terraces (which are slightly off the route). Then it goes to Papekop, and then zooms through the polder with nice long strokes.
The Zwarte Dijkje, which served as a dividing line between two peat extraction areas, is surprising: the ditches run north-east on the right, and east-west on the left. Het Dijkje is adorned with trees with thin trunks. Then it goes around the bend, under the A12 and to Woerden. Through the greenest part of the city, where skating is great.
