This has been the burying ground since Auburn was established as the South Parish of Worcester. After the Congregational meeting house was put up, adjacent land was obtained for the cemetery. Most of the major families in the 18th and early 19th century Auburn are represented here, including Bancroft , Drury, Rice, Richardson, Stone, Boyden, Gleason, Livermore, Wiser and Issac Bailey, the first resident minister of Auburn.
