This Mt. Olive Free Community Book Exchange is the largest, most well stocked free community bool exchange unit I've come across! The website for the Mt. Olive book exchange hints that the books are in the bench by the front door, so just lift up the seat of the bench to access the selection of books. Boy Howdy! was that statement true! Books galore!
This is about a five foot long all-weather bench with a back rest and a seat on top of a large storage box that happens to be chuck full of all kinds of books ... in abundance! If you are looking for a book to read while you are at home, this is a free book supply that is well stocked! At the time of posting this waymark, there were at least 75 books that were easily in view. Many children books and many more advanced reading selections, like novels or adventure stories.
This bench full of books for exchange is a testimony to Luke 6:28, "Give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into you bosom. For with the same measure that ye measure it shall be measured to you again."
To that point of giving in abundance, the concept of these free community book exchange units is for the community to reach out and offer those who want to read but may not be close to a public library, or have limited access to other reading sources can come here and select a book to take with you to read. The slogan "Take a book. Leave a book" is often written on these book exchange units so people will know it is OK and encouraged to take books out if you see one you want to read. After you are finished reading it, please return it to either this same exchange unit ... or take it to another free exchange unit to place it back into circulation. This keeps the book selection varied and interesting.
