This new cemetery was constructed by the Town of Marana through the gift of 32 acres of land by a local family and a grant from the US Department of Veterans Affairs. The first internment here was in March 2016. The cemetery includes an open-air nondenominational chapel. Inside the chapel are metal benches for seating; in the front of the chapel the seals for the five branches of the Armed Services are shown. The cemetery itself provides in-ground burial (full casket), in-ground burial of cremated remains, and niches for cremation urns. Qualified veterans can be laid to rest here at no cost to the family.
