English: In the Spinderihallerne in Vejle you can see a genuine bog body - The Haraldskær woman also called Queen Gunhild - in the Vejle Museums exhibition. The body is dated to 200 B.C. and was found in 1835 during trench digging in a bog at Haraldskær outside the city. The body was immediately identified as the Norwegian Queen Gunhild, who the danish viking king Harald Blåtand, according to tradition, had lured to the country and had murdered. Archaeologist Worsaae disapproved of the theory and theorised that the body belonged to the Northern European Iron Age and was sunk in the bog as a sacrifice to the gods. A scientific study at an later stage showed that Worsaae was right. The body was more than 1000 years older than first thought.

The Haraldskærwoman is now on permanent display in the exhibition at Spinderihallerne.
