De bijzonder vormgegeven bovenschuur is omstreeks 1870 tegen een naastgelegen boerderij aangebouwd en helemaal opgetrokken uit IJsselstenen. In de rechter zijgevel van de schuur is de moet van de oude boerderij nog goed te zien. In de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw werd de schuur door de lokale aannemer en architect Bas van Dam gebruikt als werkplaats en droogzolder voor hout. Tevens diende de schuur voor opslag van vloedplanken en stormlampen. Onderin de schuur was een in de dijk verstopte woning. Afgezien enkele kozijnen die, met behoud van de oorspronkelijke roedenverdeling, zijn vernieuwd, verkeerd het pand uitwendig in gave staat. De bovenschuur is tegen de dijk aangebouwd en ligt in de oude dorpskern van Capelle aan den IJssel. Momenteel is er een kantoor in gevestigd.

The specially shaped upper barn was built around 1870 against an adjacent farm and built entirely of IJssel stones. In the right side wall of the barn you can still clearly see the old farmhouse. In the first half of the 20th century, the barn was used by the local contractor and architect Bas van Dam as a workshop and drying attic for wood. The shed also served for storage of flood boards and storm lamps. At the bottom of the barn was a house hidden in the dike. Apart from a few window frames that have been renewed, while retaining the original distribution of rods, the exterior is in perfect condition. The upper shed is built against the dike and is located in the old village center of Capelle aan den IJssel. An office is currently located there.
