Just inside the entrance to William Ray Memorial Park at the south end of 2nd Avenue, there is a circular patio inlaid with the names of 23 veterans. A flagpole stands at the center, which flies the American flag.
The west pillar that holds the entrance sign to the park has two plaques embedded into it. The first is inscribed:
