NL: De geschiedenis van de kapel van Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-van-Bijstand gaat minstens terug tot 1544 wanneer een kapelbroederschap wordt vermeld. Het heiligdom werd herhaaldelijk verwoest en heropgebouwd en kreeg zijn huidige gedaante omstreeks 1895 onder impuls van Louise Delwaide. Het gebouw, naar ontwerp van architect Christiaens, werd opgetrokken in baksteen met hardstenen details en een sobere neogotische vormgeving. In de kapel worden een processiemadonna en een stel koperen kandelaars bewaard.
EN: The history of the Chapel of Our Lady of Help dates back at least to 1544 when a chapel brotherhood is mentioned. The shrine was repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt and was given its present shape around 1895 at the instigation of Louise Delwaide. The building, designed by architect Christiaens, was built in brick with bluestone details and a sober neo-Gothic design. A processional madonna and a pair of copper candlesticks are kept in the chapel.
