Fountainhead is one of the more popular trails in the area to mountain bike, however it is not for everyone. The course is broken up into 3 loops. The first loop is "easy to intermediate," the second loop is "intermediate." and the third loop is "difficult."
Things to help new riders here:
1. Call the park before coming out, the trails are very controlled and might be closed when you show up.
2. Please note there are trail markers as you ride, these are helpful for the off chance you get injured and need help. knowing these signs will greatly increase your chances of not sitting around for hours.
3. If you are inexperienced you might want to consider another trail system first.
4. This is a mountain bike only trail.
5. All trails are one way, do not expect to turn around at any point, when you start the loop, plan to finish it.
Note: IMBA revamped the trail system in 2012. It has kept some of the original features but it is mostly more of a roller coaster, non-XC type course that it once was.
