Rechts naast de ingang van de snackbar 'De Wacht' is een bord met de naam en het telefoonnummer van de snackbar en direct daarboven is in een steen het bouwjaar van het pand gezet - 1776. Op een plaquette kunnen we lezen dat het pand in 1776 is gebouwd als vervanging voor vele kleine wachthuisjes bij de IJsselpoort. Het diende als wachtlokaal voor de wachters. De IJsselpoort is in 1855 afgebroken.
To the right of the entrance to the snack bar 'De Wacht' is a sign with the name and telephone number of the snack bar and directly above it the year of construction of the property is written in a stone - 1776. On a plaque we can read that the property was built in 1776 and has been built as a replacement for many small guard houses at the IJsselpoort. It served as a waiting room for the guards. The IJsselpoort was demolished in 1855.
