A Geodetic Survey of Canada Marker from 1906 located on a retaining wall of the now CNR bridge over the South Branch of the Magnetewan River. When we were paddling up I saw the newer cast concrete retaining wall dated 1924 and we thought this old bolt might be destroyed. After moving some vegetation we found the old masonry section of the retaining wall still visible and the COSINE description brought us right to the bolt.

Access

Make your way to the beach in Katrine at N45° 34.252 W079° 22.020 and launch your paddle craft. From here, it is a nice flat and scenic 6.5km paddle to the bridge and the Bolt.
