NEAR THIS
IN THE ADJOINING CHURCH YARD
ARE INTERRED THE REMAINS OF
CHARLES WYNDHAM, ESQUIRE,
OF DONHEAD HALL, IN THIS PARISH.
HE WAS THE SIXTH AND YOUNGEST SON
OF WILLIAM WYNDHAM ESQUIRE, OF DINTON,
IN THIS COUNTY, AND ELIZABETH, HIS WIFE.
HE MARRIED MARIA FRANCES, YOUNGEST DAUGHTER
OF SIR WILLIAM HEATHCOTE, OF HURSTLEY PARK,
IN THE COUNTY OF SOUTHAMPTON, BARONET,
AND FRANCES, HIS WIFE;
BY WHOM HE LEFT ISSUE ONE ONLY DAUGHTER
FRANCES ELIZABETH MARIA.
HE WAS A MOST AFFECTIONATE HUSBAND AND FATHER,
ZEALOUS IN EVERY CAUSE HE UNDERTOOK
FOR THE GOOD OF OTHERS, WHETHER OF A PUBLIC
OR OF A MORE PRIVATE NATURE.
BELOVED AND RESPECTED BY ALL
HE DIED THE 14TH DAY OF MARCH 1846,
IN THE 63RD YEAR OF HIS AGE.
IN THE SAME GRAVE
REST THE REMAINS OF HIS WIFE
MARIA FRANCES WYNDHAM,
WHO DIED THE 9TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1859,
IN THE 74TH YEAR OF HER AGE.
