The station was built in 1867 when the Main Range Line from Ipswich to Toowoomba opened, initially named Highfields Station the name was changed to the current one in February 1890. The station served as an outlet for timber, dairy and other produce for the area., but was decommissioned in August 1992,
Spring Bluff Railway Station is a heritage listed site known for the attraction of its beautifully maintained landscaped gardens walk trails and cafe.
