Yarnaby, purportedly from a Choctaw word for "to go and kill", is a scattered rural community, population unknown, southeast of Achille. There was a post office here from the 1880s until nearly 1960. The cemetery itself is located west of town on Sheco Rd, which is named for early settler, Charley Sheco, who is buried here in an unmarked grave, along with several other family members. His wife, Amelia, was part Chickasaw, and she died delivering a daughter in 1848. Hers is the earliest marked burial in the cemetery.
