The brick church and the land it stands on were donated by Edgar Thomas Aldridge in memory of his late wife. The church has a gabled entrance above which is the foundation stone and above that is the year of construction. Either side of the entry there is a lancet window and five on each side of the building.
The last service held in the former church was on 29th October 2005 after which it became a private residence

Full inscription:
Saint Thomas' Church of England - This land and building was given by the bereaved - Husband and Children, for the Glory of God - and in memory of - the worth, goodness, benevolence and christian virtues of - Maria Alderridge,- wife of Edgar Thomas Aldridge, of Baddow House, Maryborough, - who died 17th March 1886. - "She stretched out her hand to the poor; yea, she reached forth - her hands to the needy. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; - her husband also, and he praiseth her. A woman that feared the - Lord, she shall be praised." Prov.XXXI 20, 28, 30.
