"The 1909-12 Douglas County Courthouse is an outstanding example of the Renaissance Revival style. The courthouse is important in the career of architect John Latenser, St., as a mature and triumphant work that commenced the latter half of his practice. Decorative stonework, superbly executed, is plentiful on the building's exterior. The courthouse is a landmark in downtown Omaha." ~ Nebraska State Historical Society website
