After a short easy hike to the end of Old Tree Trail you will find this beautiful wood gazebo right at the edge of the lake. It has two wooden benches to sit on with a beautiful view.

It is named "The Perch" It is built primarily from Osage orange wood that is native to the Southeastern U.S. It is one of the hardest, densest woods in North America and very resistant to rot. This type of wood was used by early pioneers for fence posts and wagon wheels. Native Americans used it to make superior quality bows.
