Memorial of Sir George Thorold on the south chancel wall of All Saints' church, Harmston. The monument features an immaculately attired bust with powdered wig. There are putto to left and right, one with human skull and the other in an attitude of mourning.

The inscription reads -
Here Lyes the body of Sir George Thorold. Knt. & Bart: Who built new this church and chancel
in the year 1717. And was Lord Mayor of the City of London 1720.
He was 4th son of Charles Thorold Esq. of London Who was the second son of Thomas Thorold. Esq. of Harms
-ton and of London, who was the 3rd son of William Thorold Esq. of Harmston, who died in
the Year 1616, who was Eldest Son of Wm Thorold Esq. of Harmston who died in 1586, and they
both lye Buried near this place., who was 2nd son of Sir Wm Thorold of Marston who died in the
year 1659 and left the Lordship of Harmston to the above Sd Wm Thorold his 2ns son who was only
Brother to Sit Anthony Thorond of Harmston.
The above Sir George Thorold married Mrs Eliza Rushout in 1713, Daughter of Sir James Rush
-out. Bart. of Northwick in Worcestershire by whom he had a daughter who died young, and he
departed this life the 29th of October 1722 aged 56.
