Homer Randal was the son of prominent area citizen, T.J. Randal, and Martha (Mabray) Randal, who was the first "white" person born in Bosque County. One wonders whether Mr. Randal's middle name is an unusual nod to that bit of history. In any event, Mr. Randal committed suicide in 1915 for unknown reasons, and a note he left simply asked that he be buried quickly and that none of his family outside the county be notified.

The family name, "Randal", is on the bottom of this gray, granite headstone, which slopes at the top. Below the Woodmen of the World emblem is a simple inscription:

Homer W. Randal

Feb. 7, 1871,
Mar. 29, 1915.

Was the inscription legible?: Yes
