This historic marker detail the Civil War Cavalry Action which took place near here in 1864. One of the participants was George Armstron Custer.

The text of the marker reads:

CAVALRY ENGAGEMENT
"Here, at Lacey’s Springs, Rosser’s Confederate cavalry attacked Custer’s camp, December 20, 1864. Rosser and Custer (of Indian fame) had been roommates at West Point."
