"The village did not have a church before the Revolution. The church is dedicated to Saints Lugle and Luglien, the two Irish missionary evangelists murdered in Ferfay in the 7th century when they came to preach the new faith to the inhabitants of the region.

The church was built on land donated by Madam the Countess of Hinnisdael (Mélanie de Villeneuve-Tourette, widow of Joachim Count of Hinnisdael who died in 1814), who provided the funds for the construction. It will be completed in 1861. "
