Die Asphaltkapelle wurde anlässlich der Oberbayerischen Kulturtage in Altötting 2001, konzipiert und errichtet. Seit Juni 2002 steht sie am Waldrand bei Etsdorf/OPf im Landkreis Amberg-Sulzbach und ist ganzjährig zugänglich. Es ist das einzige Gebäude weltweit, das ausschließlich aus Asphalt (Gußasphalt) besteht. Es können Opferkerzen darin angezündet werden und man kann seine Gedanken/Eindrücke in ein Gästebuch eintragen.

The asphalt chapel was designed and built on the occasion of the Upper Bavarian Culture Days in Altötting 2001. Since June 2002 it has stood on the edge of the forest near Etsdorf / OPf in the Amberg-Sulzbach district and is accessible all year round. It is the only building in the world that consists exclusively of asphalt (mastic asphalt). Victim candles can be lit and you can write your thoughts / impressions in a guest book.
