Lorsque Adhémar de Castellane, comte de Grignan et gendre de Mme de S&vigné, hérite des terres d'Entrecasteaux en 1670, la bâtisse élevée sur une ancienne forteresse médiévale doit alors avoir l'apparence d'un château d'agrément Renaissance. Les travaux qu'il engage et après lui son successeur Raymond de Bruny acquéreur du domaine en 1714, donneront au bâtiment sa forme actuelle : une élégante bastide de style classique édifiée sur trois niveaux en façade sud,éclairée par 110 fenêtres et portes-fenêtres. Par le jeu des alliances, les Lubac s'y installent au XIXe siècle.
Ils céderont le château à la commune en 1949. 11 sera revendu en 1974 et magnifiquement restauré et aménagé par ses différents propriétaires privés.

Miroir du château,le jardin « à la française » a été créé au XVIIe siècle sur le modèle des jardins d'André Le Nôtre à Versailles. Propriété de la commune,il est doté de son portail d'origine en ferronnerie et constitué d'un ensemble d'allées de buis ordonnancées autour d'un bassin. Adossée au château,une statue récente rend hommage au célèbre amiral Antoine Raymond Bruny d'Entrecasteaux parti sur ordre de Louis XV1 en 1791 la recherche de l'explorateur le comte de La Pérouse.

When Adhémar de Castellane, Count de Grignan and son-in-law of Mme de S&vigné, inherited the lands of Entrecasteaux in 1670, the building built on a former medieval fortress must then have the appearance of a Renaissance pleasure castle. Owned by the municipality, it has its original ironwork gate and consists of a set of boxwood paths arranged around a basin. Leaning against the castle, a recent statue pays tribute to the famous Admiral Antoine Raymond Bruny of Entrecasteaux who left on the orders of Louis XV1 in 1791 in search of the explorer the Count of La Pérouse.
