The marble pulpit of the Cathedral of Messina replaces the early 16th century pulpit that was destroyed in the bombing of the Cathedral during World War II. It is a modified copy of the original created by Antonia Gagini.

The marble pulpit consists of two pieces of marble. The upper part forms the octagonal rostrum which has carved panels with relief figures of the prophets. A set of curved stairs leads up to the rostrum. The shaft rises from a square base. It is a square pillar which is highly ornamented with four heads and elaborate carvings along the shaft.
