(3081) Martinuboh Asteroid

Discovered 1971 Oct. 26 by L. Kohoutek at Bergedorf.Named in memory of the Czech composer Bohuslav Martin{u°} (1890-1959), known in the musical world as the author of remarkable orchestral and scenic works (six symphonies and twelve operas), as well as chamber and vocal music.

Martinuboh is an asteroid, a large rock that orbits the Sun mainly between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. They tend to be an irregular shaped but Ceres asteroid is known to be spherical in shape but because it doesn't clear its path round the Sun, it is only a dwarf planet.

The absolute magnitude of the object is 13.7 which is the brightness of the object. A higher absolute magnitude means that the object is faint whereas a very low number means it is very bright.

The Longitude of Ascending Node of the object is 43.78285 degrees. It is the angle between the Reference Direction and the Ascending Node. It is normally represented by the Greek letter O. The ascending node is the point in which the object passes north. The descending node is the southern. The Argument of Perihelion is 279.52. It is the angle along the orbit of a planet or other Solar System object as measured from the ascending node (analogous to right ascension and longitude).

The mean anomaly is 301.04871, is the angular distance of the planet from the perihelion or aphelion.y.The Semi-Major Axis of the orbit is 2.4112931, which is the furthest point from the center to the edge of an elliptical point.

The orbital inclination, the angle at which Martinuboh orbits in relation to the orbital plane is 5.28618 degrees. The orbital eccentricity is 0.1833277, it is the degree at which Martinuboh orbits close to a circular (0) orbit as opposed to an elliptical (1) orbit.

The over life-size statue of Bohuslav Martinu is located in town's park in Policka native town of this great Czech composer of modern classical music. Its author is Milan Knobloch and the statue was made in 1990.

Bohuslav Martinu, (born December 8, 1890, Policka, Bohemia, Austria-Hungary, now Czech Republic — died August 28, 1959, Liestal, Switzerland)

Born in a church tower in the Bohemian country town of Policka, Bohuslav Martinu was a prolific enough composer as a child, before he entered Prague Conservatory as a violin student in 1906. His interest, however, lay in composition. Failing to complete his course at the Conservatory or at the Prague Organ School, to which he had been transferred, he worked as an orchestral player before moving, in 1923, to Paris. The approach of the German armies in 1940 forced him to make his way, as best he could, to the United States, where he was encouraged by commissions from Koussevitzky. Political events in Czechoslovakia prevented his intended return after the war; he spent his final years abroad, dying in Switzerland in 1959.
