On a beautiful sunny day in November I visited the Banks Public Library in Banks, Oregon. Just outside the library entrance, I discovered a dedicated bench to a former employee of the library named Jane Babcock. Jane worked at the library from July 1996 until late 1999 and the staff spoke very highly of her. Jane Macleay Babcock (Phillippe) was born in Portland, Oregon on 17 April 1954 and passed 46 years later also in Portland, Oregon on 5 May 2000. The bench plaque reads “In Memory of Jane Babcock”. The coordinates are set to the bench location.
