Sculpture Griechische Gottheit der Blumen und Blüten "Flora" im Stadtgarten der Stadt Karlsruhe
In klassisch anmutender Pose und leicht bekleidet ist in diesem Werk Flora, die antike Göttin der Blumen und Blüten dargestellt. Ein derber Naturalismus bestimmt die überlebensgroße, leider etwas beschädigte Skulptur. In den 70er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts wurde der Namenszug des jüdischen Auftraggebers Meier Abraham Straus wieder neu eingearbeitet, nachdem dieser unter dem Nationalsozialismus entfernt worden war. Der Kunstmäzen und Bankier Dr. Straus hatte das Kunstwerk Ende der Zehnerjahre des 20. Jahrhunderts ausschließlich mit privatem Geld finanziert und der Stadt Karlsruhe als Geschenk überlassen.

Sculpture Greek goddess of flowers and blossoms "Flora" in the city garden of the city of Karlsruhe
In a classical-looking pose and lightly dressed, this work depicts Flora, the ancient goddess of flowers and flowers. A crude naturalism determines the larger than life, unfortunately slightly damaged sculpture. In the 70s of the last century, the name of the Jewish patron Meier Abraham Straus was re-incorporated after it had been removed under National Socialism. The patron of the arts and banker Straus had financed the work of art exclusively with private money at the end of the twentieth century and left it as a gift to the city of Karlsruhe.
