FR Sous une pluie diluvienne, soixante-dix représentants de la confrérie fraternelle des Jacquets de France, venus de tout l'Hexagone mais aussi de Wallonie, de Suisse et d'Italie, se sont retrouvés mercredi 31 octobre au square Agricol-Perdiguier, à Avignon pour inaugurer la plaque commémorative de la Via Avenio. Une cérémonie qui s'est déroulée en présence notamment du chanoine Brehier, recteur de la basilique métropolitaine de Notre-Dame-des-Doms.

La plaque offerte par la Ville a été bénie
La plaque offerte par la Ville d’Avignon et bénie par le chanoine, est dédiée au Jacquet Michel Ribouleau, récemment disparu. Elle symbolise le kilomètre zéro à la croisée des chemins entre Rome et Compostelle. Cette inauguration a été faite à quelques semaines du vingtième anniversaire de l’inscription des Chemins de Compostelle au patrimoine culturel mondial de l’Unesco.
EN Under heavy rain, seventy representatives of the brotherhood of the Jacquets de France, from all over France but also from Wallonia, Switzerland and Italy, gathered on Wednesday 31 October at the Agricol-Perdiguier square in Avignon to inaugurate the commemorative plaque on the Via Avenio. A ceremony that took place in the presence of Canon Brehier, Rector of the Metropolitan Basilica of Notre-Dame-des-Doms.

The plaque offered by the City was blessed
The plaque offered by the City of Avignon and blessed by the canon, is dedicated to Jacquet Michel Ribouleau, recently deceased. It symbolizes mileage zero at the crossroads between Rome and Compostela. This inauguration was made a few weeks before the twentieth anniversary of the inscription of the Paths to Compostela on UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage List.
