The Atlas describes the monument as "a slab of Leuders stone, five feet high, three and a half feet wide, twelve inches thick, inscribed on one side only." It is nearly fourteen miles northwest of Albany in a pullout along US 180, where you'll also find the Texas Historical Marker for the Bud Matthews Switch of the Texas Central Railway, an old cattle car, and a few other interesting things.
