Text on 1975 Marker: Chmn. of the 1st Gibson CO. Quarterly Court, held Jan. 5 & 6 1824. at the house of Luke Biggs, 4 miles Northwest of this site
Court members commissioned by Gov. Wm. Carroll and oath administered by B. G. Stewart, J.P. Madison Co.
Other members are Robert Edmonson, Robert Reed, Olley Blakemore, John D. Love, William W. Craig, Hunter Burgin, Benjamin White, Isham E. Davis, [three names unreadable].
The grave of Seat moved here from near the Madison Co. line, 1975, by the Gibson Co. Quarterly Court.
Born in Virginia moved to Gibson Co. from Davidson Co., TN. about 1822.
