" Dans les années 60, de la volonté épiscopale de créer un lieu de culte dans la banlieue Nord de Nevers, est née l'église Sainte Bernadette du Banlay. Classée aux Monuments historiques en 2000, elle est l'œuvre de la rencontre entre le travail de Paul Virilio et de Claude Parent.
D'après ce dernier, la fonction oblique consiste en la création et à l'utilisation de plans inclinés pour l'habitat et la circulation. Le schéma architectural de l'église s'articule autour des deux plans inclinés de la nef abritée par deux demi-coques en béton s'imbriquant l'une dans l'autre.
Si l'extérieur de l'édifice surprend de par sa dureté, l'intérieur offre une grande douceur au travers de la dominance des courbes et de la lumière tombant de la voûte.
L'église située rue Claude Parent (anciennement rue du Banlay) est ouverte lors des messes dominicales le 1er dimanche de chaque mois à 10h30. "
