The Stebbins House, built in 1799, was the first brick house built in historic Old Deerfield Village, MA. It is located north of the Visitors Center on Old Main Street.

In the 17th century Deerfield, MA was a frontier settlement. Often the town was attacked by Indians and in 1675 it was burned to the ground and again attacked and burned in 1704. All these original dwellings were made of wood. Today Old Deerfield Village is restored to its original appearance and functions as a museum. Old Deerfield Village Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.
The Stebbins House is one of the fully restored and furnished historic houses in Old Deerfield Village that is open to the public. It was built in 1799 as the first brick home in Old Deerfield Village. The two story house was designed in the Federal style by Asa Stebbins, a wealthy farmer and mill owner, and features neoclassical furnishings dating from 1790 to 1830.
