From the 'Primary Website' link, while this was built over a hundred years ago, it "replaced an earlier building in Rowan Street. Manilla's first resident Methodist minister was the Rev Colin Blizard."
Actually there are two Foundation Stones at the front of the Uniting Church (originally a Methodist Church). The pink stone tablets are edged with fluted grooves. The tablets read:
To the Glory of God
this stone was laid by
David Hartley Esq.
Dec. 7th 1910.
And the other is:
To the Glory of God
this stone was laid by
A. C. Veness Esq. J.P.
Dec. 7th 1910.
