This is a blue and khaki coloured, arched sign, with a blue rectangular one attached beneath for the Area Population of 500, and also mentioning that the town was established in 1856. They are held within an arching blue-painted, 10cm steel pipe frame. Placed by the Tamworth Regional Council.
The area was first settled with the Kamilaroi and Anaiwon Aboriginal people, with white settlers coming in the 1850's looking for land to graze their cattle. A Post Office opened in 1859 - while the NEW one had only just opened, when I was there in March 2019. The village was given a population of 357 people in the 2006 census, and is about 20km north of Tamworth, on the New England Highway. [Some info from Wikipedia: (
