A teenager under the influence of laced marijuana caused great concern in the Crest parking lot. After punching a moving car he proceeded to grab a baby in a car seat in a grocery cart and slam him to the ground. The aggression continued as witnesses called 911.

Edmond Police are warning the public about marijuana laced with hallucinogens after an incident where a suspect allegedly grabbed a child from a car seat, assaulted the child, exposed himself to oncoming traffic, and assaulted police officers responding to the scene.

"I'm at Crest. A man just threw a lady's baby out of the cart," said a witness in a 911 call. "He walked up to her grocery cart, grabbed her baby in the carseat and threw it"

"There is a man who has been acting very erratically. I saw him punch a car in the parking lot of the Crest," said another witness in a second 911 call.

On May 24, 2019 at 7:39 p.m., police received a call about a disturbance at Crest Foods at 2200 W. 15th St. in Edmond. When officers arrived, a witness helped identify the suspect, who was put into handcuffs and detained by police. Upon examination, the officers noticed the suspect's eyes were dilated and blood shot. Reportedly, the suspect requested officers to shoot him and asked for a knife so he could "do it himself."

"He was yelling to shoot him and then told our officers to give him a knife so he could do it himself," said Jennifer Wagnon, an Edmond police public information officer. " By the time he gets to the back of EMSA and was being checked out, he's obviously in a different state of mind and is asking to apologize to officers for kicking and fighting them. There's a big cycle, range of emotions that are going on."

A witness at the scene said the suspect grabbed the one-year-old boy from the car seat, threw him to the ground, and jumped onto the hood of a vehicle. The suspect began to "flip people off" and continued walking southbound to a parking lot. Another witness said that in that parking lot, he dropped his pants and exposed himself to several passing cars while "flipping them off" on S. Santa Fe Ave.

"He's in the middle of the street he just mooned a car," said a witness in a 911 call.

EMSA took the suspect to OU Medical Center to be medically cleared. The suspect admitted to smoking marijuana earlier that was laced either with acid or PCP.

"If anybody has any information of who within our city limits is distributing marijuana that is laced with something that is causing a teenager to have this reaction we would like the community to cooperate and help our investigation," said Wagnon.

The suspect faces charges of Aggravated Assault and Battery, Assault of a police officer, public intoxication, Indecent Exposure, and Malicious Injury or Destruction of Property.
