The modular metal post, plastic and metal framing equipment is set within a low scalloped copper-log retaining wall, and surrounded by brown wood-chips. The make-up of the equipment is quite complex, and worthy of children up to teen age. There are various ways to climb up to the multiple platforms, with 'suspension bridges' connecting some of the platforms. There is a tubular plastic slippery slide, or a Fireman's Pole to get down. Just a little way down the grassy slope towards Oxley Street are a couple of swing sets with rubber slings for the seats. One set is for children, and the other for infants. There are some spring bouncers there as well.
At the southern end of Nixon Park are public toilets and a basketball court - sans hoop net.
