Unmittelbar über dem Eingang zum Rathaus in Trogen an der Kirchstraße 4 befindet sich das örtliche Wappen, das es seit 1979 in dieser Form gibt.
Trogen ist eine Gemeinde im oberfränkischen Landkreis Hof in Bayern unmittelbar an der Landesgrenze zu Sachsen. Die Gemeinde ist Mitglied der Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Feilitzsch. Der Kernort liegt zwischen Hügeln eingebettet in einer Talsenke.

BESCHREIBUNG
Über silbernem Zinnenschildfuß in Schwarz ein wachsender rot bewehrter und gekrönter goldener Löwe, der in seinen Vorderpranken einen von Silber, Rot und Schwarz geteilten Schild hält.
Die drei Zinnen symbolisieren die drei Rittersitze Wasserburg, Trogen-Zech, und Oberes Gut. Der Löwe steht als Symbol der ehemaligen Vögte von Weida. Der Schild stammt aus dem Wappen der Freiherren von Feilitzsch.
DESCRIPTION
Above a silver battle shield foot in black a growing red reinforced and crowned golden lion holds a shield divided by silver, red and black in its front paws.
The three merlons symbolize the three knight's seats Wasserburg, Trogen-Zech, and Oberes Gut. The lion stands as a symbol of the former reeves of Weida. The shield comes from the coat of arms of the barons of Feilitzsch.
