About the Coat of Arms:
"Blazon: "divided by gold and red in the wave cut, in confused colors above a lying sheep shears, growing down from the sign foot four ears of corn."
The wave division represents the location of the community on the Ems. The Schafschere is taken from the coat of arms of the knights of Langen, which was located here in the Middle Ages and led in the golden shield a diagonal red sheep shears. The four spikes symbolize the four districts: Oberlangen, Sand, Wilholte and Oberlangen-Moor / Siedlung. In addition, they point to the prevailing agriculture in the community. The colors red and gold are the coat of arms colors of the Lords of Langen and at the same time those of the Niederstifts Münster, to whose territory Oberlangen belonged from 1252 to 1803.
The coat of arms was from the heraldist dr. Ulf-Dietrich Korn from Münster designed."

"Located in the idyllic landscape Oberlangen with its old trees, which blends harmoniously into the townscape, shows its best side especially in summer. Detached houses and farms, with partly centuries-old court oak trees, line the town center and give Oberlangen its special charm and character.
Oberlangen is a village-structured place with 950 inhabitants. The quiet location of the residential areas allows a high recreational value. Here life in a small community still offers enough social incentives and opportunities. Our children attend the kindergarten with nursery, the primary school Ober- / Niederlangen, secondary schools are then visited in Lathen or Haren.
In addition, our clubs and interest groups offer a wide variety of offers throughout the year, ensuring a high level of recreational value.
Everyone is welcome, whether they are looking for peace and quiet or a change."
