Combined WWI / WWII memorial cross on the Village green, Knipton.

The memorial consists of a raised square platform with a three-stepped square base surmounted by a square sectioned plinth, a round sectioned column, capital, and a decorative wheel cross at the top. An incised slate tablet is attached to each side face of plinth for the casualties in WWI. The WWII tablet is laid flat on the platform base. The whole memorial is bordered by paving stones, which are surrounded by a small garden area and lawn, further enclosed on three sides with a wooden fence.

TO THE MEMORY OF THE MEN OF
KNIPTON WHO MADE THE SUPREME
SACRIFICE IN THE GREAT WAR
1914 - 1918
IN THANKFULNESS TO GOD FOR THE
VICTORY. THEIR VALOUR HELPED TO
WIN AND ALSO TO COMMEMORATE
THE PATRIOTISM OF ALL FROM THIS
VILLAGE WHO FOUGHT FOR THEIR
COUNTRY. THIS MONUMENT IS SET
UP BY THOSE WHO LOVE THEM
AND ARE PROUD OF THEM.
