This flagpole in front of the Choctaw Fire Department was presented by the local WOW lodge.

We're used to seeking out Woodmen of the World headstones in cemeteries, but it's always a delightful surprise to find the Woodmen presence in unexpected locations.

The Choctaw fire station #1 is located at 14181 N.E. 23rd Street. At the curb in front of the station is a beautiful Bradford pear tree, which we happened to find in full bloom. In front of the tree is a flagpole flying the American flag. A bronze plaque attached to the concrete platform reads:
