There are several ducks, geese and herons that can be seen from here. The sign also references a rookery slightly west of here.

The Great Blue Heron is common is this area. It is the continent's largest heron. The young fly at 2 months.

The sign also mentions the Eastern Phoebe, a bird that can be seen building nests in protected nooks around human buildings.
