On an angled, grey stone plinth is a bolted-down bronze plaque, which is in a square enclosure, of brick pavers on three sides, and the concrete kerb on the fourth. The Dedicated Tree is mostly smooth-barked, with some rough-barked patches (an unknown species of Gum Tree), and is surrounded with fine wood chips. The plaque has the following punched inscription:

1939 - 1945

The only mention, so far found online, is for Private Alexander Ritchie Leask, from the Australian Army Medical Corps, dying on 14th May 1943, aged 31. Enlistment number: NX27345 ex-'War Dead Leasks', and WW2 Leask, search.
