The sign for the Monterey Motel in Chouteau, Oklahoma sports a glittering neon star that catches the eye even in daylight. It's a C-152 Lectra, once a popular sign in this region. Another one (no longer operating) can be seen across the street at the former Mr. B's Drive In.
C-152 Lectra signs were designed and manufactured by Jim Henry of Oklahoma Neon in Tulsa, OK in the 1960s. They were marketed and distributed by the Standard Neon Supply Company. About 50 of these signs were constructed and sold.
