Many non-Woodmen tree trunk monuments will have an anchor, which is a symbol of hope, but in this case, the Woodmen of the World have borrowed the idea. This monument is in excellent condition -- note how the detail has survived time and the elements -- and here, the anchor with a rope intertwined is above the inscription, which reads:
